You may have noticed that most of the time, it's incredibly difficult to be introspective. Rarely is one's mind conducive with reflection, contemplation, or introversion. What you'll find is that this happens especially when your internal demons are driving you mad, your personal relationships are at their worst, or you're in the midst of something major like a career change or promotion. This just means that now is no exception for me either! That's why I'm here today with some advice on how to manage stress and connect to yourself again through means both spiritual and physical - an interesting blend of ancient practices and modern-ish techniques. Taking the time to engage yourself in a practice should be something that you do daily, not just when your stress levels rise. It's about developing the habit of engaging with yourself. Meditation is often tricky for most people because you can't actually do anything during it! You don't have to worry about talking or moving around. To ensure that you're doing this right, try practicing meditation before bed at night - it's a great way for you to drop any worries about your day and introduce yourself to the concept of being alone with your thoughts. Meditation should consist of a set of steps. These steps do not have to be lengthy, but they should be consistent. You should always begin by clearing your mind - you can either sit down with feet folded into the ground, or just close your eyes and simply let thoughts flow through your mind. This can be likened to squeezing out water from an overfilled sink. As you allow the thoughts to flow through the emptiness of your mind, focus on what causes you anxiety or concerns you so that you can identify what these are and let them go. After this first step, begin working with different emotions that may be causing distress in yourself - contentment, happiness, peacefulness... whatever it is, if it's negative for you, you'll want to work through it. This can be a difficult task for many people because of the natural state of feeling positive emotions of any kind is rare for most people. I know that at one point in my life, I was even afraid of engaging too often with my positive thinking. If you're really struggling with anxiety at this point, don't worry, because there's a solution! You need to develop a routine for yourself that involves activities that promote positivity and atonement. The more you practice, the better you'll be at it, and eventually, these activities will become second nature to you. Really, there are countless activities that will help you with this single task - for some people, music is an amazing way to focus emotions on something creative. For others, running around a track will help them feel the wind in their hair and really immerse themselves in the moment. I personally take up physical hobbies such as gardening or woodworking as a way not only to take my mind off of problems or complaints I'm experiencing about myself or my life but also as a way to express my creativity and enjoy nature. cfa1e77820
